Volusia County, FL-Single family home sales here stumbled last month amid a bad news/good news report with sales down but median sales price up. New numbers from the Daytona Beach area MLS says 318 exisiting single-famly homes sold here at a median price of $183,500. Compare that to a year ago in the same month and sales are down by 21% but the median sales price rose by 22%.

In February 2015, 404 single family homes sold here at a median price of $149,900. Ron Wysocarski, with the Wyse Home Team at Keller Williams in Port Orange says,“Low inventory levels were really the story last month, keeping sales down. Demand is extremely high and you’re seeing that in the soaring prices. It’s pushing local buyers to start their home search early this year, rather than wait for the kids to finish school. With those conditions expected to persist through the spring, people who planned to sell a home this year will find it’s to their benefit to get the home listed now, rather than later.”

Ormond Beach led the local area in home sales last month with 78 sales at a median price of $231,000.
