Daytona Beach, FL- If you travel International Speedway Boulevard regularly you may have noticed a drainage problem along the way. FDOT is going to address that issue at a public meeting Thursday night. A drainage improvement project on ISB between Emmet Street and North Charles Street has already been funded for fiscal year 2018. Jessica Ottaviano, FDOT spokesperson, said that the goal of the meeting is to answer questions and get input from local residents. Other improvements for that area include additional curb inlets and replacement of the existing storm drain main with larger pipes. The project also calls for milling, resurfacing and other miscellaneous improvements. Ottaviano said a brief looping presentation and other project information will be available from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Thursday at the Michael and Libby Johnson Center for Civic Engagement at Bethune-Cookman University , 740 W. International Speedway Boulevard, Daytona Beach. The meeting's purpose is to introduce the project and present the design to the public. The meeting is an open house. Staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2016.
