Palm Coast, FL - Flagler County deputies need the public's help in finding a teenager in need of medication. FCSO says that 17-year-old Rickey Wheeler was reported missing by his mother around 5 p.m. on Friday (September 21st), saying he had never been away from home as long as he was. According to deputies, he was last seen at Madison Green Apartments. His mother also told deputies that Wheeler is diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and may not be taking his medication. She also said he left his home without his medication or a cell phone.
Deputies have been working throughout the weekend, passing out flyers to businesses along the State Road 100 corridor. They're asking all business and property owners in that area to check their property, check all buildings locked and unlocked, and backyards or wooded areas. “With the public’s assistance getting the word out and being aware you are hopeful you can help us locate him and bring him home so that he can get the needed medication and be safe,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. Fireflight and a bloodhound from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office are also assisting in the search. The search is currently focused around the Town Center area. Wheeler is African American, 5’9, 105 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing camo army shorts, green Nike sneakers and a gray shirt with blue stripes. He is also said to have limited verbal skills. According to deputies, the last time Wheeler disappeared, he was found within two hours by Belle Terre Parkway. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 386-313-4911.
