Palm Coast, FL – A man is arrested by Flagler County Sheriff’s Office after he punches a woman and her son before stealing their toy figurine.
FCSO says they were called to the Target on 5100 State Road 100 in the Palm Coast Landing in reference to a physical disturbance on Saturday (September 8th).
When deputies arrived they made contact with the mother and son, both victims, and it wouldn’t be too long after that where the male suspect, 34-year-old Charles Porter, returned to the store.
Per the report, the victim and her son were waiting inside Target to find a “Twinkie The Kid” Funko POP figure, but could not find it. That’s when she says she walked to the back of the toy department where she found it on a pallet.
She says she asked an employee if he would open the box for her and sell her one. That’s when she finally received the figurine and proceeded to pay for it. She went to go wait in her vehicle as her son remained inside to pay for his own items.
It was at that point that the son told deputies that he noticed he was being “stalked” by another man, later to be identified as Porter.
When the son walked out of the store, he was confronted by Porter who began to yell at him about the toy purchased by his mother. According to the report, Porter then allegedly began to punch him in the back of the head as his mother pulled their vehicle to the front of the store.
Porter then pushed the son out of the way and entered the vehicle where he punched the mother, where he began to tear the box open.
The mother then got out of the vehicle and began to go after Porter. As he left the mother attempted to stop him by grabbing his shirt, which led him to remove it. She then grabbed onto his pants and held on until Porter finally pushed her to the ground.
According to Porter and the two victims, the Funko POP figure was special because while the figure was priced at $10, it would be worth $150 on the internet since the box was adorned with a specific “chase” sticker.
Porter was then arrested and transported to the Flagler County Detention Facility.
