Bunnell, FL - Detectives are trying to make sense of an incident where a 45-year-old man was shot in the arm in a rural part of western Flagler.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday (March 13th) at a property on County Road 2006 West in Bunnell. It's just east of Dead Lake.

According to the incident report, FCSO received a call for help from the property, with the caller saying the shooting happened during some sort of argument between a man who lives there and another who lives a few blocks away on Park Place Avenue.

First responders found the alleged shooter - a 46-year-old man who lives on the property - sitting on the ground in the front driveway near a green-and-yellow mountain bike, which he was told to do by the dispatcher, per the report.

The shooter was placed in handcuffs at the scene and taken to the back of an FCSO vehicle but has not been formally arrested or charged at this time, according to Flagler County Jail records.

The man who was shot was "bleeding heavily" from the arm, with a neighbor helping him rig a tourniquet using a belt, according to the report. Deputies found him lying on the front yard near the east side of the driveway.

The victim was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening, per FCSO.

It's not clear which arm was shot or what the argument was about, but the report did note that the shooter is the fiancee of the victim's mother.
