FCSO Brings In Second Sex Offender In Three Days

Posted

Flagler Beach, FL - Failure to register as a sex offender is a felony and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office is taking it seriously. The latest is 32-year-old Trevor Brandon, who was arrested at his mother's home in Flagler Beach yesterday (September 17). The residence is about 250 feet from a city park. Sex offenders living within 1,000 feet of a park is prohibited by Florida law.

Deputies do periodic address verification on sex offenders. When they went to Brandon's last known address on July 4, they were not able to locate him. FCSO's Major Case Unit conducted surveillance on Brandon and found him living in his mother's home on Magnolia Terrace in Flagler Beach. Two weeks of video surveillance showed that Brandon was staying at his mother's home just about every night.

Detectives got an arrest warrant for Brandon yesterday (September 17) and coordinated with the Flagler Beach Police Department to bring him into custody. Brandon told arresting officers that he was only at the house to take a shower. When they showed him the video surveillance, he admitted that he had not been living at his registered address at the Thunder Gulch Campground.

Brandon was taken into custody and charged with Failure to Properly Register as a Sex Offender. He is in the Flagler County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000.00 bond.

“Let it be known to any sex offenders living in Flagler County that you must comply with the regulations of your probation or release from prison. You will get a visit from our deputies and a ride to the Green Roof Inn if you are not in compliance with the law,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We will do everything we can to keep our community and children safe from sex offenders and predators.”

Earlier this week, FCSO arrested 39-year-old Andre Watkins. He also lied about where he was living. Deputies found him at his mother's house. She runs a registered daycare and it's a place that Watkins should have not been anywhere near.
