Palm Coast, FL - A Palm Coast man, who Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) says sold heroin to several people who overdosed on the drug, was arrested on Thursday. FCSO says that on Wednesday they conducted an undercover operation on 32-year-old John "Jack" Organ, who is suspected of selling heroin linked to multiple non-fatal drug overdoses. On Thursday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with Organ, 37-year-old Matthew Paul, and Organ's child located inside. A K-9 detected drugs inside the vehicle, and deputies found over 4 grams of heroin, over 2 grams of cocaine, 2 suboxone tablets, syringes, and a crack pipe inside the vehicle. Organ was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking in Heroin, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, and Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility. Paul was also arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending. Arrangements were made for the mother of Organ's child to pick the child up, and the Department of Children and Families was contacted. Organ has been arrested eight times in Flagler County, with arrest records dating back to 2007. Four of those charges have been for drug possession. The heroin that was seized will be sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to test to see if it contains fentanyl. FCSO says fentanyl is 30-50 times more potent than Heroin alone, and according to the DEA, two milligrams of fentanyl (equivalent to a few grains of table salt) is considered to be fatal for more than 95% of the American public. "Let this be a message to anyone thinking about dealing drugs in Flagler County, we are coming for you,” says Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly.
