FCSO: 2 Young Boys Suffered "Life-Altering Injuries" After Lighting Found Firework

Flagler County, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) has put out a warning to residents about fireworks after two children were injured over the weekend.

On Sunday, two boys, ages 8 and 11, found fireworks at Dr. Carver Park in Bunnell. When they lit the firecracker, it exploded, causing both boys "life-altering injuries."

The FCSO wants to remind residents that fireworks that leave the ground or explode are illegal in Florida. They are also urging people to always be safe when around fireworks.

“If you come across fireworks in a public place, do not touch them, call law enforcement,” says Flagler Sheriff, Rick Staly. “We don’t want to see any more fires or more injuries as a result of illegal and improper use of fireworks.”
