Daytona Beach, FL – A man wanted by the FBI, who allegedly committed several armed sexual assaults in Los Angeles, California, was last seen in Daytona Beach.
46-year-old Greg Alyn Carlson was arrested by the Los Angles Police Department on September 3, 2017, for assault with the intent to commit rape, burglary, & assault with a deadly weapon. Carlson fled after he posted bail on September 26.
The FBI believes he fled to a family home in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and left with a stolen handgun, rental car, and cash. According to the FBI, Carlson has said that he was not planning on returning to California to face prosecution.
Carlson was then seen in Hoover, Alabama, on November 22 where he led police on a high-speed chase that was ultimately ended by police due to a potential threat of danger to the public. Carlson was then seen in Jacksonville on November 28 and in Daytona Beach on November 30.
On September 6, an arrest warrant with the charge of one count of assault with intent to commit rape was issued by Los Angeles County. On December 12, a federal arrest warrant was issued with the charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
The FBI says that Carlson may still be in possession of the stolen pistol and may be driving a stolen white 2017 Hyundai Accent with South Carolina license plate NKI-770. Carlson is white, 5’11’’, 170 lbs, and has green eyes and brown hair. He is considered armed and dangerous.
