Daytona Beach, FL - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s (ERAU) Worldwide Campus is the first of its kind to be honored for excellence in online leadership from the National Council for Online Education. ERAU announced Wednesday that its Worldwide Campus was the first institute of higher learning to successfully complete and excel in all categories of The University of Professional and Continuing Education Association’s National Council for Online Education Hallmarks of Excellence in Online Leadership Review. The review recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate consistent excellence throughout their online programs. Participating colleges and universities are evaluated using a rigorous seven-part review process of seven key aspects of online education programs, including internal advocacy, student support, entrepreneurial initiatives, faculty support, technology, and more. “As we enter our 25th year as the leader in online education, an acknowledgment such as this validates and motivates our ongoing efforts to continuously engage and innovate,” Embry-Riddle Worldwide Chancellor Dr. John R. Watret says. “Because of our strengths with online education, we are able to work with industry to provide the most comprehensive and useful training to advance our professional education programs as well.” The "Hallmarks of Excellence" review program was announced this month in partnership with Credly, the nation’s leading digital credential service provider. “This unique process and significant acknowledgment of our efforts is an incredibly valuable, comprehensive, and robust exercise that all institutions aspiring to take their online education units to the next level should partake in. From the self-assessment submission to the personalized committee interviews, the information gleaned was invaluable,” Dr. Jason M. Ruckert, Vice Chancellor for Online Education at Embry-Riddle Worldwide explains. “We’re very proud to be the first university to successfully complete the review process and have the hard work of our faculty, staff, and administrators be recognized.” Virtual enrolments make up nearly 89% of all of Embry-Riddle Worldwide's more than 20,000 students, according to the university. ERAU's Professional Education program offers dozens of online and in-class degrees, certifications, and training opportunities in multiple disciplines and at various levels for those in aviation, engineering, aerospace, and business industries. Embry-Riddle Worldwide is also the only private, not-for-profit institute out of hundreds of universities nationwide that has been ranked in the Top 5 of U.S. News & World Report’s annual list for best online bachelor’s degrees five years in a row.
