November Runoffs Ahead In Race For County Chair & County Council District 4

Volusia County, FL- Ed Kelley got more than twice as many votes as incumbent Jason Davis in the race for Volusia County Chair but there will be a run-off in November between the two.  Kelley, Ormond Beach mayor,  received 41.2 percent of the vote but that left him around 2,500 votes shy of the majority needed to win outright. Davis had 20.3 percent of the vote. The other candidates in the race were Greg Gimbert who received 14.9 percent of the vote and Tom Laputka with 11.2 percent. County Council will see a November runoff in the District 4 race. Heather Post received 38.3 percent of the total vote with Al Smith in second place with 24.8 percent. The position of Supervisor of Elections will be retained by Lisa Lewis, who won by a landslide with 57.4 percent of the vote over three challengers.
