Ormond Beach, FL - It's been more than a year since a vehicle accident took the life of 21-year-old Jennifer Otto of Pompano Beach while she was traveling through Volusia County.  A South Carolina man, 29-year-old Alex Edward Jamison, is charged with vehicular homicide, DUI causing the death of a human or unborn child and DUI causing serious bodily injury. Investigators say Jamison was drunk and driving his pickup the wrong way on Interstate 95 near Ormond Beach on July 16, 2017.  Jennifer Otto was a passenger in a Toyota Prius being driven southbound by 30-year-old Maria Stengel when Jamison's pickup hit the vehicle head-on. Otto was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The Prius caught fire and the pickup overturned but Jamison was able to get out on his own. Stengel suffered serious injuries. Jamison had a blood alcohol level of 0.169, which is twice the 0.08 level at which a driver is considered legally intoxicated, according to the FHP.  He was arrested on Aug. 14 in South Carolina. After extradition, Jamison was booked Wednesday into the Volusia County Branch Jail where he is being held on $250,000 bail.
