Guns and ammo Reddock Daytona Beach, FL-Daytona Beach police officials say they recovered what they called an "arsenal" of weapons in the motel room of a murder suspect after a standoff Thursday morning. 41-year-old Joseph Reddock, Jr. and his wife were found dead inside the room. Both had apparently committed suicide according to authorities. Reddock was wanted in the murder of his father in St. Johns County and his wife was wanted as a "person of interest". At an afternoon news conference, Deputy Chief Craig Capri said officers found out that the couple were in a room at the Regency Inn on North Ridgewood Avenue while serving a warrant at another room early Thursday morning. Officers ran the plates of vehicles in the parking lot and got a hit showing a felony hold on Reddock's vehicle. Capri said that SWAT was contacted along with the VCSO bomb squad. Information from the St Johns Sheriff's Department gave the indication that there would be no negotiating. Capri said he was told that Reddock, Jr. had a "strong hatred" for law enforcement. The VCSO robot was able to breach the door. Officers found Reddock, Jr. on the bed and Samantha on the floor. Weapons in the room included semi-automatics and handguns, along with a number of boxes of ammunition. Capri said officers "dodged a bullet" as Reddock had the chance to engage them in a gun battle before police knew he was there. The initial investigation suggests the deaths are most likely a double suicide. Capri said that there were notes in the room that suggested suicide. Both Reddock, Jr. and his wife, Samantha, were dead from gunshot wounds.
