Posted

Bunnell, FL - A Bunnell man is recovering from being stabbed with an alarm clock. His girlfriend, who allegedly did the stabbing, 36-year-old Brianna Rice, is at the Flagler County Jail. Flagler County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call on County Road 200 from Joyce Pack, the mother of the victim, Jesse Pack.  Mrs. Pack told dispatch that Rice was stabbing Jesse with an alarm clock and that she had then left the residence. When officers arrived, Mrs. Pack was at the front door, reportedly distraught and crying.  She told them she did not know whether or not Rice was inside the house. When the officer went out the front door, he saw a man and a woman who told him there was no problem.  Mrs. Pack identified Rice as the woman who had stabbed her son. The officer secured Rice before asking if she had any weapons on her person, which she did not. Rice asked why officers were on scene and stated: "I thought you were here to hurt my dogs." The officer then turned to the alleged stabbing victim, Jesse Pack, who was at first uncooperative, then admitted that Rice did stab him with an alarm clock.  Pack had a small laceration to his left arm and a small lump on his head but refused medical attention. He told officers that Rice needed help and asked the officer to Baker Act her, due to her being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Based on Joyce's sworn written statement, Jesse's verbal statement and his injuries, the officer determined that Rice did unlawfully strike him against his will committing the offense of domestic battery. The officer noted that Jesse refused domestic violence paperwork and answer questions on the assessment form, saying he didn't want Rice to get in trouble. She was arrested and taken to Flagler County Jail.
