Naples, FL - A former Volusia County Manager and the current Ormond Beach City Manager are both going for the same job on the Gulf Coast side of Florida.

Jim Dinneen (right of photo) and Joyce Shanahan (left) are among six finalists for the open City Manager position with the City of Naples.

Three of the other finalists currently work in Florida, including Melbourne City Manager Mike McNees, according to city documents. Only one is from out of the Sunshine State.

The pay range is likely to be somewhere in the $200,000 to $230,000 range, per Naples officials.

Shanahan currently makes $155,000 in her role with Ormond Beach, which she has held since 2009. In her application for the job, she highlighted various accomplishments, including the "revitalization" the city's downtown area and guiding the city through hurricanes Matthew and Irma in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Dinneen was making around $250,000 before he resigned earlier this summer after over a decade on the job, a move which came in the midst of increasing public criticism over his job performance. In his application, he highlighted getting Volusia County's debt down to $0 as an achievement he's "extremely proud of".

Dinneen also applied recently for Pinellas County Administrator.

The Naples City Council is expected to interview all six sometime next month before possibly extending an offer to one of them shortly afterward.
