FBI Confirms Remains Found In TN Belong To Woman Who Went Missing In Ormond Beach

Volusia County, FL - 12/5/16 Update: The FBI has confirmed that the human remains found in Tennessee on Friday, December 2, belong to Rachael Lynn Madison, who was last seen in Ormond-by-the-Sea on November 27. Her estranged husband, Jarvis Madison, is in custody in Indiana on unrelated charges. "We offer our deepest condolences to the family of Rachael Madison," said Charles P. Spencer, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Jacksonville Division, "and we continue to work tirelessly alongside our law enforcement partners in an effort to provide her loved ones with answers." The investigation is active and ongoing, so no other details are being released by the FBI at this time. 12/3/16 Update: Authorities say the remains believed to be of a woman missing from the home of relatives in Ormond-by-the-Sea have been recovered in Tennessee. Rachael Madison had been the subject of a search after she went out for a run on the beach here and disappeared.  Her remains were recovered in a remote area off I-40 near Knoxville. Her estranged husband was taken into custody Friday in Louisville, Kentucky. Earlier reporting follows: 12/2/16 Update: The man that was at the center of a missing person case has been taken into custody in Kentucky, but his wife still hasn't been found. She went missing in Ormond-by-the-Sea where she was visiting family. Jarvis Madison was found on Friday morning by the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in Louisville, KY. He was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by Indiana State Police. His silver 2011 Honda Pilot was also found and has been impounded. VCSO doesn't have any local charges on Jarvis at this time. His wife, Rachael Madison, still hasn't been found and the Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate her disappearance along with the FBI. Earlier Reporting: Deputies are looking for help from the public to find an Indiana woman who went missing Sunday from her families home on Ormond-by-the-Sea. 44-year-old Rachael Madison was staying with family to put distance between herself and her estranged husband. She went for a run on the beach and never returned. Investigators now say 58-year-old Jarvis Madison, the estranged husband, is now wanted on an Indiana warrant for criminal confinement. That charge carries a $15,000 bond and full extradition. Madison is believed to be armed with a .45 caliber handgun and is a transient known to frequent Walmart, gas stations, and state or local parks. Rachael Madison was staying at a home at Rivocean Drive and has no contacts in the area. She was last seen wearing a pair of men’s navy blue basketball shorts, a light-colored jacket and blue/black slip-on Skechers shoes. She had no cellphone or money with her. Investigators want to determine if she is with him and, if so, did she go willingly. The vehicle Jarvis Madison may be driving is a silver 2011 Honda Pilot with Indiana tag EN2348.
