Demolition To Begin At Florida Hospital Oceanside

Ormond Beach, FL -  Prep work is underway to begin the demolition of Florida Hospital Oceanside. Hospital spokesperson Lindsay Cashio recently confirmed the plans to demolish the building, saying the process should be complete by Summer 2019. Cashio added, "Working with Cross Construction Services, we've developed an environmentally conscientious plan to ensure recyclable items stay out of landfills and are repurposed when possible. For example, concrete without rebar can be recycled and copper piping could be sold. The entire razing process is expected to take several months and should be completed by Summer 2019." Over the past two weeks, chain link fencing has gone up and a large portion of the fence is covered by tarps.  Cashio said the work to complete the demolition is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 7. The property is just short of 4 acres.  The plan is to sell part of the property while retaining a 2.44 parcel for future projects. Cashio said that Florida Health, soon to become Advent Health, intends to continue serving the beachside community for years to come.
