DeLand, FL - A 45-year-old Deltona man could spend most of the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced today (August 8) to 35 years in prison on child porn charges. Paul Elias was arrested on December 21, 2017, after a four-month investigation.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office began the investigation into Elias activities on August 31, 2017. He was charged with 30 counts of possession of child pornography. No bond was set and Elias has been in the Volusia County Jail since December 2017.
VCSO investigators received a CyberTip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children in 2017. The tip enabled them to identify Elias and find the child pornography in his possession.
When he is released, Elias is required to register as a sexual offender
