DeLand Police Investigating Possible Drive-By Shootings

DeLand, FL-DeLand police responded to a shooting in the 200 block of West Walts Avenue at around 2 P.M. on Monday, after a report that someone had been shot.

The responding officer found two victims with what appears to be gunshot wounds. One victim was flown to Halifax Medical Center in serious condition. The other victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Both victims are male but their ages are unknown at this time.

Another person is at Florida Hospital DeLand, also with a gunshot wound which is determined to be non-life threatening. At this time, investigators say that no connection has been made between the two incidents. His identity is not available.

The initial indication is that this is not a random chain of events and investigators do not believe there is any additional threat in the area.
