Volusia County, FL- A 30-year-old DeLand man was sentenced to seven years in prison on Monday for distribution and possession of child pornography. Kevin Schoffman was also ordered to pay restitution to his victims. Court documents state that Schoffman was part of a group of people who used a messaging app to send and receive images of child pornography. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of more than 1,000 images. This case was a result of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to fight against child sexual exploitation and abuse.
