Deland, FL- A 54-year-old Deland man is charged with a felony for making a false report and threatening to use a gun in a violent manner. It started with a call to an Orlando TV station last Thursday. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the tv station employee about a man, identifying himself as Robert Moni, calling to say "If they don't stop flying helicopters over my house I will have to take matters into my own hands." Moni reportedly said he would, "Shoot them down" if he had to. Further investigation found a field interview report where Moni told an officer that former Sheriff Ben Johnson, high-level FBI personnel, military helicopters, and drug dealers had ruined his life and were in conspiracy against him. Moni was arrested while at Florida Hospital Deland. It's not clear why Moni was at the hospital. Several reports and complaints had previously been made about Moni and his conspiracy theories.
