Eustis, FL – A DeBary motorcyclist was killed on Sunday near Eustis in a wreck involving 2 other Volusia County motorcyclists.

Travis Detrick, 37, of DeBary, 23-year-old Ricardo Santiago of Deltona, and 27-year-old Elias Santiago Rivera, also of Deltona, were all riding east on County Road 44-A as part of a group of motorcycles on Sunday morning. Detrick was behind the group and as he tried to catch up he failed to slow down. The front of his motorcycle hit the back of Santiago’s, forcing Santiago’s motorcycle into Rivera’s. That happened near Thrill Hill Rd.

Detrick, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Santiago and Rivera both suffered minor injuries. They were wearing helmets as well.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
