Daytona Beach, FL - Detectives are hoping to get some help from the public to solve the fourth homicide this year in Daytona Beach.

26-year-old Willie Bailey of Daytona Beach was shot and killed around 11 p.m. last night while in a vehicle with a friend near the residence at 590 Shady Place. That's just to the north of Daytona Beach Golf Club.

The suspects went up to the blue Chrysler vehicle Bailey and his friend were in while they were eating snacks they just bought at a nearby gas station, according to Daytona Beach Police Department Sergeant Kelsey Harris.

"Two unknown black males in dark clothing approached the vehicle, opened the driver's door, uttered words and shot [Bailey]," Harris added. "The two unknown black males then ran off in an unknown direction."

First responders found Bailey conscious besides the vehicle, but he soon lost consciousness. He was declared dead shortly upon arrival at Halifax Health Medical Center.

The motive for the shooting is unclear at this point, as is any other details about the suspect, according to Harris.

No other injuries were reported.
