Update: DBPD's now looking for 45-year-old Anthony Carpino, who's the suspected robber of the Wells Fargo on Beville Rd. Carpino's known to frequent North St. Carpino was recently arrested for robbing another Daytona Beach Wells Fargo back in March. An employee of the Wells Fargo robbed on Tuesday positively IDed Carpino in a photo lineup as the robber. Carpino was released on bail from the Volusia County Jail on October 3rd for the robbery in March. 10/12/16 Update: DBPD arrested Joel Owens, the suspected getaway driver in Tuesday's robbery of the Wells Fargo on Beville Rd, on Wednesday. A police officer spotted Owens and his vehicle parked in front of 342 N Keech St. When the officer approached him and said he was going to be detained, Owens asked why then took off on foot. The officer chased him down and arrested him. Original Reporting: Police in Daytona are looking for the getaway driver involved in a bank robbery. The Wells Fargo at 1300 Beville Rd was robbed around 11:29 AM on Tuesday, October 11. A man in a red shirt went into the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The man, about 6 ft tall, fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money. He got into a vehicle, described as a 1993 Ford Taurus with the tag number BAXI90, waiting near a car wash just west of the bank. DBPD has put out a warrant for 41-year-old Joel Owens of 5813 Boggs Ford Rd on a charge of Principal to Robbery. He's the suspected getaway driver in this case, and his bond has been set at $15,000. Police say he may be driving a white 2012 Toyota Rav 4 SUV with the plate number FL M716NL.
