Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police investigators are asking citizens to be on the lookout for a suspect in a shooting incident Tuesday morning on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard. Public Information Officer Messod Bendayan said the incident happened near a car wash located near Garden Street at 10:52 a.m.

Video shows a white Mitsubishi SUV traveling eastbound on MMB and slow down in front of the car wash. The SUV driver makes a sharp left on to Garden Street as the suspect comes running out of the carwash, gun in hand. He fired several shots in the direction of the Mitsubishi and continued running after the vehicle as it sped away.

Bendayan said there's not much of a description of the suspect but at the time of the incident, he had no shirt on but was wearing dark-colored shorts and light-colored shoes. You can see the video here.

Video then shows the suspect going back to the carwash and collecting what appears to be several spent shell casings from the street. He left the scene shortly afterward in a four-door gray sedan, possibly a 2013-2015 Nissan Altima.

Detectives did find the driver of the Mitsubishi at a nearby gas station about an hour later. He was not injured and they found no bullet holes in his vehicle. Detectives say the victim was uncooperative and did not want to press charges.

A search of the street and the rest of the area around the car wash did not turn up any shell casings. At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information to share on this incident is asked to contact Detective Michael Jaeger at 386-671-5245.
