Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police investigators are looking into a shooting that took place this morning (August 14). Police spokesperson Messod Bendayan said a call came in about a person shot at 9:40 a.m. in the area of Ridgewood Avenue and Country Club Oval.
A 9-1-1 call came in reporting that man had been seen firing shots from a handgun. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle with a bullet hole and a shell casing in the immediate vicinity.
The shooting victim was already at AdventHealth Daytona Beach undergoing treatment for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses are being interviewed by police. Officers are canvassing the area and are also talking to people at some of the hotels that are close to where the shooting took place.
A possible suspect and/or motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.
