DBPD Giving Away Children's Bike Helmets Tomorrow

Daytona Beach, FL - Kids bike helmets will be given away free tomorrow, by the Daytona Beach Police Department in partnership with Amscot Financial Services.

The helmet giveaway takes place at the Amscot location on the corner of International Speedway Boulevard and Nova Road.

The giveaway is planned from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on a first-come-first-serve basis. Sizes are small, medium and large and are for children in pre-school and elementary school.

State law enforcement statistics show that more than 100 bicycle-related deaths happen every year.

Police officers will help the kids to ensure the helmet fits properly and instructions on how to wear it. For more information, contact the DBPD at 671-5406.
