Daytona Beach, FL - According to the Daytona Beach Fire Department, as of 11 AM Thursday, there have been over 20 motorcycle accidents in Daytona Beach alone since Bike Week 2017 began.

The most recent accident involved several motorcycles and it happened at 11 AM on March 16 at the intersection of International Speedway Blvd and Clyde Morris Blvd in Daytona Beach. Three riders were injured in that accident and one was brought to the hospital as a trauma alert.

DBFD's asking motorcyclists to be extremely careful. In a press release, DBFD's Community Relations and Emergency Preparedness Specialist Sasha Staton wrote: "We encourage all motorists to slow down, be attentive to their surroundings, not try to make it through a changing light at intersections, and to yield for emergency vehicles responding to emergencies with lights and sirens."

DBFD's also asking motor vehicle drivers to be extra careful, and they're reminding everyone to use the "look twice, save a life" practice to help be more aware of motorcycles on the roads.
