DB Shores Police Investigating After Hotel Guest Jumps To His Death

Daytona Beach Shores, FL - Daytona Beach Shores police are investigating the death of an Ohio man who jumped from the fifth floor of an oceanfront hotel Sunday night.

At around 10 PM, officers responded to the Sea Club IV hotel, located at 3229 South Atlantic Ave., after receiving reports that a male jumped off the fifth floor. One witness reported that it had appeared that the man “leaped” off the building.

When officers arrived, the deceased was found lying on a walkway at the north end of the property. Investigators uncovered that the deceased was a 25-year-old man from Toledo, Ohio. It was revealed that the man was on vacation with his family and that he was staying at the hotel.

Witnesses say that he was running on the fifth floor when he jumped over the railing. At this time, police do not believe anyone else was involved. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call Detective Jessica Long of the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety at 386–763–5347.
