Daytona Ranks Low In Best Cities For Florida Families

Daytona Beach, FL - A new study shows that Daytona Beach is among the worst for families in Florida.

Out of 183 cities in the state that have been canvassed, Daytona Beach ranks at 147th, according to this recent report from Wallet Hub.

The report compares cities across 21 key metrics, including housing affordability, school-system quality, divorce rates, rates of violent crime per capita and general affordability.

In housing affordability, Daytona Beach didn't rank as low, coming in near the average at 88th. However, Daytona ranks 155th out of number of families below the poverty level.

The city also ranked 102nd in rate of violent crime per capita, 117th overall in school-system quality and near the very bottom (180th) for divorce rate.

Other local cities making the list are Ormond Beach (32nd), New Smyrna Beach (54th), Edgewater (58th) and Palm Coast (86th).
