Daytona Int'l Airport Hosting TSA Precheck Enrollment

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - For the next few days, you have a chance to enroll in the TSA's Precheck program.

Between today (October 14th) and Friday (October 18th), passengers can enroll in the program which allows flyers to experience a more efficient airport screening process. Each day the program runs between 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

With this program, passengers can leave on their shoes, light jackets and belts without having to take out any electronic or compliant liquids in carry-on bags at checkpoints.

During the onsite enrollment, which is held in the baggage claim area, passengers will pay the $85 application fee before being fingerprinted for a background check. That fee can be paid by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier's checks. Cash and personal checks are not allowed.

Applicants must also bring proof of identity and US citizen documentation, such as a U.S. passport or birth certificate and a driver's license.

Successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) through the mail within 45 days that's valid for five years. The enrollee should enter the KTN in the "known traveler number" field when they book their travel reservations.

The KTN can also be added when booking reservations through a participating airline website, phone call to the airline reservation center or with a travel management company.

More than 200 airports, including Daytona Beach, participate in the TSA Precheck program nationwide. 56 airlines participate in the program, including American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, who both serve Daytona Beach.
