Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach is going to be home soon to a professional football franchise.

A press conference on this matter is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday (October 9th) at DME Sports Academy on Bellevue Avenue.

DME is affiliated with the company which recently committed to an over $20 million renovation of Daytona Stadium after signing a 30-year lease with the City of Daytona Beach last February.

Officials have said that the new team will be part of a newly formed professional football league, but no other details about that are available at this point.

No other details have been released at this time, including the team name, logo, who the owners will be or when the team might start play.

This makes the second pro sports franchise in the city alongside the Daytona Tortugas, the Single-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds who play in the Florida State League.
