Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach area real estate market experienced a solid increase in single-family homes in February.
For the month ending on February 28, 2017, the Daytona Beach Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reported that 333 existing single-family homes (detached) were sold in the greater Daytona Beach area with a median home sales price of $200,000.
There was a 16.4% increase in sales and a 10% increase in prices, year over year. Month over month comparisons showed prices remained strong in sales totals.
Comparisons to previous months and 2016 SFR sales figures are as follows:
"The numbers are strong now, as we move closer to the spring home sales," said Daytona Beach Area Realtor Ron Wysocarski, leader of The Wyse Home Team at Keller-Williams Realty, Port Orange, FL. "These market conditions make it a great time for anyone to sell and get top dollar. And the current conditions are highly favorable for certain sellers, such as those planning to downsize from a home to a condo, and buyers planning to up-size from low and mid-priced homes into larger or luxury homes."
According to the MLS data, buyers shopping for a detached single-family home in February searched in a market with 8.3% fewer available homes than buyers a year ago were able to consider.
In total, 1734 single-family homes were listed for sale in February. That's 159 fewer homes than the 1893 listed during the same period in 2016.
