Tangelo Park, FL – A 40-year-old Daytona Beach man is dead after rear-ending a semi truck.

Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Kim Montes reports that the man was driving a 2016 Chevy Cruze westbound on Sand Lake Road, approaching State Road 435, just before midnight on Wednesday.

Montes said the driver did not slow for some reason, rear-ending an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the big rig was not injured. The identification of the Daytona Beach man is pending notification of next of kin.
