Daytona Beach Man Dies After Rear-Ending 18 Wheeler

Tangelo Park, FL - A 40-year-old Daytona Beach man is dead after rear-ending a semi truck. Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Kim Montes reports that the man was driving a 2016 Chevy Cruze westbound on Sand Lake Road, approaching State Road 435, just before midnight on Wednesday. Montes said the driver did not slow for some reason, rear-ending an 18-wheeler. The driver of the big rig was not injured. The identification of the Daytona Beach man is pending notification of next of kin. FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
