DAB: Airport Load Factors Up In February Despite Slight Decrease In Traffic

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Passenger traffic at Daytona International Airport (DAB) was down 2% for February in comparison to February last year.

Monthly passenger traffic data obtained from DAB indicates that during February 2017, 55,057 passengers flew in or out of DAB, compared to 56, 719 passengers last February. For the 12 months ending in February, total passenger traffic at DAB increased 10.65% with 640,830 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 709,029 passengers this year.

"Even though passenger traffic was down slightly for February over last year, we saw load factors increase for all 3 airlines," said Airport Director Rick Carl. "The monthly decrease stemmed from weather cancellations and having 1 less day of flight operations due to the leap year. The extra calendar day in 2016 produced 20 additional flights compared to this February."

Karl says passenger traffic should remain steady in 2017, although some months may have minor fluctuations.
