Criminal Charges Dropped Against Volusia Republican Executive Committee

Volusia County, FL - The State Attorney’s Office has determined that the Volusia Republican Executive Committee committed no criminal violations regarding the dispersal of voter guides that endorsed some Republican candidates over others in nonpartisan races. A criminal complaint was filed by Volusia County Chair Jason Davis against committee chairman Tony Ledbetter.  The complaint alleges that state laws have been violated. Davis filed a complaint with the FBI, alleging federal laws were also violated. Davis is running for re-election as County Chair. He called for Ledbetter’s resignation during a press conference on Monday afternoon. Davis did say the information has been sent to the state board of elections so the elections commission will be dealing with it.
