Deltona, FL - A boyfriend is arrested for battery while his girlfriend is arrested for aggravated assault following a domestic disturbance.

The report from Volusia County Sheriff's Office shows that deputies responded to a Walgreens found off of Providence Boulevard in reference to a domestic disturbance around 8 pm last night (November 26th).

There is where investigators met with 31-year-old Jenise Joiner, who said that the altercation took place at her home with her boyfriend, 34-year-old William Demontas.

She told the investigating deputy that when the argument escalated she jumped into his blue Infiniti and left the residence. However, when she stopped at a gas station to seek help, Demontas tried to crash into the vehicle with her own car.

That's when, according to her, she drove to the Walgreens across the street from the has station to dial 911. But when the manager said she couldn't use the phone, she went outside and was attacked by Demontas who then left in his vehicle.

One investigator responded to Joiner's home in an attempt to make contact with Demontas. When Demontas was detained, he told the investigator that the two were involved in an argument at the house.

When Demontas wanted to leave, he got into Joiner's car to move it so he could take his own vehicle.

However, that's when Demontas said that Joiner took his vehicle and ran.

He followed her in an attempt to get her to stop, eventually boxing her in at the Walgreens parking lot. That's when he approached his vehicle to take it back from Joiner. But, he eventually realized he let his phone in the other vehicle, which prompted him to return back to the parking lot, where he said the two got into another argument before heading back home.

But, while one of the deputies was talking to Demontas, a resident approached another deputy at the residence and told them that they heard a gunshot from Joiner's home.

They told the deputy they reviewed their personal surveillance footage and found they recorded some of the incident.

When deputies viewed the video, they observed Joiner raising her arm and firing a shot at Demontas' vehicle.

Deputies confronted Demontas about the shooting, asking why he didn't tell law enforcement about it. He told them he was reluctant to tell them as he didn't want to get Joiner in trouble.

When Joiner was asked about the shooting, she told them that she was attempting to shoot at Demontas after he initially threatened her with the firearm. Then she changed her story, saying it was self defense before saying that she shot at Demontas because he wouldn't return her property.

It wouldn't be long before both of them were arrested and booked at Volusia County Jail.

Demontas was given no bond while Joiner was given $20,000 bond.
