DeLand, FL - DeLand residents are being given the chance to have a say in the future of the Cypress Lake Park playground.

Tim Baylie, Director of the County's Parks, Recreation, and Culture Division, is set to discuss the County's plans to replace the playground equipment at 6 PM on Wednesday, April 20, at the park - 1700 First Ave., DeLand.

The current playground equipment is coming to the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced, according to Baylie. So he will share a proposal for future equipment with the community at Wednesdays meeting, then ask for feedback. "If they like it, we'll move forward," said Baylie. "If they don't, we'll go back to the drawing board and see if we can come up with something that they do like."

Baylie says he is seeking feedback from the community because his proposal involves non-traditional playground equipment.
