Palm Coast, FL-The City of Palm Coast is getting the word out about pool and water safety for kids in a new video PSA called "Please, Do Something". The PSA shows a young woman with a young child and a beach ball in a backyard near a pool. When her phone rings inside the house, she tells the child to stay right there and she'll be right back. The ball then bounces into the pool and when she returns, the child is in the water. The PSA then shows first responders arriving on the scene. Then the video shows the same thing happening, but the woman is shown picking up the child and carrying him into the house with her as she goes to answer the phone. The PSA was redone by Palm Coast officials to localize a PSA first produced by the City of Tucson, Arizona. Palm Coast got permission to redo the PSA with Palm Coast featured. For the closing scene, Palm Coast Television (Bright House Channel 495) featured Palm Coast Firefighter-Paramedic Daniel Hackney delivering the PSA’s main message, and further, giving a list of eight preventative steps all families should take when in and around a pool.
