Candlelight Vigil For Hurricane Maria Victims In Deltona

Posted

Deltona, FL- One year ago today, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico.  A Candlelight Vigil and Memorial for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands will be held this evening at 7 p.m. in the courtyard at the Deltona City Hall. Free candles will be handed out to those in attendance. Hurricane Maria left more than three million residents without basics such as clean water and electricity.  Electricity was only restored recently to a majority of Puerto Rico. The city of Deltona, in partnership with local Puerto Rican community leaders, is hosting the event.  Florida Hospital Fish Memorial-Orange City is sponsoring the vigil and will provide candles and water for attendees.
