Edgewater, FL - A burglary suspect brings his four-year-old daughter along on the job, along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Volusia County Sheriff's deputies say 35-year-old James Giambra is facing a number of charges, including child neglect.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Charles Street around 8 a.m. yesterday (June 13) after a witness reported a suspicious person walking with a little girl, carrying large bags on a neighbor's property along the river. The owner discovered someone had tampered with electric wires on his boat in an apparent attempt to start it.

Another report came in just before noon about a man and a little girl walking through backyards on the 100 block of Coleman Street looking into utility sheds. As a deputy was speaking to a woman standing on her second story deck, he heard a male voice coming from downstairs. The woman said no one else should be in the house which is when deputies discovered Giambra inside the home.

Deputies took Giambra into custody without incident. The little girl with him handed deputies an iPod Touch she said she had taken from a car in the garage. She was turned over to a responsible family member.

Giambra is charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling, two counts of burglary of a conveyance, grand theft, petit theft, two counts of child neglect, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine, which was found in his pocket.

Giambra is in the Volusia County Branch Jail with bond set at $38,000.
