Bunnell, FL - A 62-year-old man is dead after succumbing to injuries received in a vehicle accident on Monday (Dec. 10th).  Eddie Collins of Bunnell was pronounced deceased at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday.  He was the passenger in a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by 43-year-old Gregory Williams of Palatka. The men were northbound on U.S. 1 around 1:45 p.m. in the left lane, when the truck, driven by Williams, veered into the center median.  Williams overcorrected, flipping the pickup a couple of times, before landing right side up but facing the wrong direction. Collins received critical injuries and Williams suffered serious injuries but they have been deemed non-life-threatening.  Collins was found to be in a deep coma, which indicated critical injuries. Williams told investigators that he thought someone tried to run him off the road. At this time, investigators have not found evidence pointing to that theory.  Charges are pending against Williams but they are not criminal.
