Bunnell, FL - Flagler County officials arrest a 20-year-old Bunnell man for sexually assaulting a friend after she tried to help him get over a break-up.

Stephen C. Brady was booked at Flagler County Jail last night (November 19th) on a felony county of sexual battery after the Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at his home on County Road 304. He was denied bond.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly says investigators were first notified around 6 p.m. Saturday (November 17th) after the woman - an 18-year-old Palm Coast resident - went to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach for help.

"The evidence shows the suspect took advantage of this victim and that the woman said 'no' and continually tried to remove herself from the situation," Staly added. "Our victim advocates are assisting the victim as this case moves forward."

FCSO believes the assault happened two hours earlier at Brady's home after he told her that he had ended his relationship with his girlfriend.

According to the arrest report, Brady pulled the woman into his bedroom and pushed her onto his bed as soon as he let her in through the front door.

The woman claims Brady then pinned her onto the bed and unbuttoned her jeans, at which point she told him to stop.

Per the report, Brady made a comment about being upset that someone would not perform oral sex on him and that's when he rolled her onto her stomach, pulled down her jeans and penetrated her vagina with his fingers.

The woman says she managed to get his fingers out, then got dressed and left, but not before Stephen tried to stop her after he had gone to the bathroom to wash his hands.

The report shows that Brady called and texted the woman after she left apologizing for what happened and asking her to come back to his house.

FCSO interviewed Brady afterward, but whatever he said after he was Mirandized was redacted from the report.
