Biker Severely Burned In Early Morning Nova Road Accident

Daytona Beach, FL-A biker was critically burned and suffered severe trauma in an early morning accident on Nova Road in Daytona Beach.

Police say it happened around 1:17 AM north of MMB Boulevard when a vehicle was in the inside left lane and changed lanes hitting the biker who was riding in the middle lane. The driver told police she didn't see the motorcyclist. The vehicle hit the motorcycle in the rear bumper. The bike dropped onto its side and the vehicle went over the biker. Both vehicles caught fire.

The biker was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Halifax Hospital with minor injuries. The biker is from South Carolina. The driver of the vehicle is from Holly Hill.

Police say the bike and the rider were dragged about 75 feet in the accident. Bystanders pulled the biker from under the vehicle.

The biker is identified as 23-year-old Niya Wallace of Columbia, SC.
