Bicyclist Hit And Killed By Train In Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, FL-Police in Daytona Beach say it appears a man on a bicycle who was hit and killed by a train went around the lowered crossing arms as the train approached. That happened around 7:30 PM Monday at George W. Engram Boulevard and the train tracks.

The victim is 20-year-old Darius Alexander.

Witnesses told police the arms were lowered, lights were flashing, and the warning bells were ringing when Alexander rode his bicycle across the track trying to beat the train.

The train was traveling southbound at the time of the accident.
