B-CU President Resigns, Board Meets To Discuss Interim Replacement

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Bethune-Cookman University President Edison Jackson resigned suddenly on Tuesday, and the University's board of trustees meets Wednesday to discuss an interim replacement.

Jackson was appointed the sixth president of the historically black university back in 2013. It's still unclear why Jackson resigned. Jackson came under scrutiny earlier this year for selecting Betsy DeVos, the U.S. Secretary of Education, to speak at the B-CU graduation. He was also under fire after the university took a documented $18 million dollar loss between July 2015 and June 2016.
