Ormond Beach Event Focuses On Learning To Live In Bear Country

Ormond Beach, FL - The Ormond Beach Library will be hosting a "Bear Aware" workshop with tips and advice on how to live with FL black bears.

Stephannie Allen, PR and Marketing Specialist at the Central FL Zoo and Botanical Gardens, will be visiting the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St., at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, September 20. In addition to offering tips on how to peacefully coexist with FL black bears, Williams will explain how important the mammals are to their ecosystems. Reservations arent required and the presentation is free.

Additionally, the zoo recently broke ground on a new bear habitat, which will house 3 live FL black bears. The exhibit is designed to be educational.

"If anyone belongs to a group or organization that is interested in bringing a black bear presentation to them, they can contact me at the zoo," said Allen. "They can call the zoo and ask for Stephannie to schedule a black bear presentation."

Allen also added that a presentation will be held at the zoo on Saturday, Septbember 17.
