Ormond-by-the Sea, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in the search to for two men dubbed the "beef bandits" because they have stolen at least $500 worth of assorted meats from the Publix in Ormond-by-the-Sea.

VCSO said the first heist happened on June 12 when they got about $300 worth of beef tenderloins and ribeye steaks. They bagged another $200 worth of items on July 9.

The pair have a system, according to video surveillance that shows them bagging the steaks then going down an aisle where there are no cameras and placing the items in a bright green ‘Daytona Beach’ bag.

Both men are described as white males in their mid-50s. One is 5'6" around 165 pounds with tan skin and dark hair. The other is about 5'9" and around 190, has a tattoo on his upper left arm and sports a gray haircut in a Mohawk-style with a small ponytail.

Their vehicle is described as a greenish-blue, older model conversion van with a Marine Corps specialty plate and bandanas and other items hanging from the rearview mirror.
