DeLand, FL - A baby welcomed into the world on the verge of Hurricane Dorian affecting Volusia County is named after the storm.  DeLand residents Kay Lisa McCloud and Anthony Davis welcomed a four-pound eight-ounce baby boy on Labor Day, September 2, naming him Tadashi Dorian Davis.

The baby, born at 11:07 a.m. at AdventHealth DeLand, was originally due on September 14. “I was hoping he would wait until after the hurricane!” McCloud said. “This is a storm I definitely won’t forget.”

It's reported that the family headed home today (September 4). They found their home undamaged and the electricity still on.
