Daytona Beach, FL-A 60-year-old woman fought back when 47-year-old Curtis Rodgers tried to steal her purse outside her hotel room. The unidentified victim was stabbed repeatedly during the altercation. She had just withdrawn $1,600 from an ATM when Rodgers grabbed her purse and tried to run away.
Rogers allegedly threw the woman to the ground when she fought back and stabbed her at least eight times. Daytona Beach Police say she appeared to be stabbed in the hands.
The attack was captured on hotel surveillance video, and Rodgers was identified as a suspect, investigators said.
Rodgers was also seen in surveillance video from a nearby Sunoco gas station prior to the attack.
He was arrested and charged with robbery and aggravated battery. Rodgers is being held without bond at the Volusia County Jail.
